Delivered at our new training salon - Precision Training Hub in the city centre of Hull.

Students aged 14+ will be prepared for a future career in hair and beauty and to enable them to access further training, employment or apprenticeships following completion.

1 day a week for a minimum of a term on the preparation course, and a minimum of a year from September 2026 for the level 1 course.

The course includes;

Developing a range of industry specific skills in hairdressing and beauty.

Building the foundation skills to prepare for further study or apprenticeships.

Gain an insight into working in the hair and beauty sector

Health and safety: Safe working practices, developing knowledge of key legislation, Risk assessment.

Art of dressing hair: Setting and dressing hair, Curly blow dries, Hair up techniques for e.g. prom or weddings

Plaiting and twisting hair: Creative techniques to use plaiting and twisting to create a range of images

Skincare: Mini-facial training, understanding skin care treatments/ products, Introduction to structure of the skin.

Manicure: Mini-manicure, hand and nail care, Introduction to hand and nail treatments

Shampooing and conditioning hair: Developing an understanding of the structure of the hair, introduction to hair types and characteristics, Introduction to shampoo and conditioning products/ treatments and services.

Client care and communication: Consultation skills, Developing social communication skills, Client care. Working as part of a team
